On 16 June 2026, ASSEFA organized a twin-function programme to honour and celebrate the extraordinary life and legacy of Thiru S. Loganathan Annachi, whose lifelong commitment to the welfare of the poor and marginalized continues to inspire thousands.
Sacred Guru Mandala Puja:
The first event was the sacred Guru Mandala Puja, marking the 48th-day observance following the Mahasamadhi of Annachi. According to Hindu spiritual tradition, the 48th day signifies the completion of the journey whereby the physical body and spiritual energy of a Sanyasi fully settle and merge with the Samadhi Shrine. It is a solemn occasion for devotees and followers to seek blessings and renew their commitment to the ideals and service embodied by the departed spiritual leader.
The puja was conducted with deep devotion and reverence, bringing together members of the ASSEFA family, well-wishers, associates, and beneficiaries who gathered to pay homage to Annachi and pray for guidance in carrying forward his mission of service to humanity.
Release of the Commemorative Book:
The second event was the release of a special commemorative volume titled:
“Annachi – The Noble Soul Without Borders: Reflections from Friends All Over the World”
The book contains 52 heartfelt articles contributed by development practitioners, social activists, scholars, friends, and admirers from different countries, each sharing personal experiences and reflections on Annachi’s life, vision, leadership, and enduring impact.
The book was formally released by S. Chandrapaul, Chairman of ASSEFA, and received by Vijay Mahajan, Managing Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, New Delhi.
Several contributors to the book, along with individuals whose lives had been transformed through Annachi’s initiatives, shared moving testimonies highlighting his compassion, simplicity, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to rural development and social justice.
A Gathering of Gratitude and Commitment:
The function witnessed the participation of nearly 1,000 people, including ASSEFA associates, community leaders, development professionals, beneficiaries, friends, and admirers from various walks of life.
The gathering served not only as a tribute to Annachi’s remarkable life but also as a reaffirmation of the values he championed—service, compassion, self-reliance, and human dignity.
A community feast was organized for all participants, fostering fellowship and unity among the attendees. As a token of appreciation and remembrance, mementos were presented to the contributors and participants who had joined the programme.
The twin events stood as a fitting tribute to a visionary leader whose life transcended boundaries of geography, culture, and status. While Annachi is no longer physically present among us, his ideals, institutions, and the countless lives he touched continue to illuminate the path for future generations.
Annachi’s legacy lives on—in the hearts of the people, in the institutions he nurtured, and in the continuing journey of service inspired by his example.
