The ASEAN Civil Society Conference / ASEAN Peoples’ Forum (ACSC/APF) 2024 in Dili centred on strengthening democratic participation and regional solidarity.

🔹Open Plenary Highlights

  • The Feminist Movement and Substantive Democracy in Southeast Asia.
  • People and Planet First: Toward a Liberating Southeast Asia.

During the convergence sessions on Transformative Economic Strategies for Alternative Regionalism, Dr. Thanaraj shared insights on the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Southeast Asia — drawing from experiences of the APPGM-SDG and ASEC initiatives.

🤝 Engagement Highlight

A special high-tea reception was hosted at the official residence of the President of Timor-Leste, where participants had the honour of meeting:

  • H.E. Dr. José Ramos-Horta, President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste
  • YB Kannavee Suebsang, Member of the House of Representatives of Thailand & Secretary-General of The Fair Party
