An update on the ASEAN Conference on Prosperity through Solidarity: Accelerating the ASEAN SSE-SDG Roadmap, An Online Event | May 20–21, 2026

Dr. Benjamin R. Quiñones, Jr. highlighted the importance of integrating SSE mindsets and practices to strengthen social enterprises. He emphasized the need for inclusive dialogue to review our progress, tackle challenges, and chart a clearer path forward.

According to Ms Zoel Ng of MySDG Academy they had a productive webinar in preparation for the upcoming ASEAN SDG-SSE Forum which will be held online in May.

EIGHT KEY PANELS IN THE MAY ONLINE EVENT

Dr Ben released some details of this conference. This was highlighted yesterday (28 April 2026) in an online discussion. He indicated that there will be eight panel and a provisional list of speakers have been identified but will be confirmed soon.

PANEL 1: Public, Private, Civil society partnership in building the SSE ecosystem.

PANEL 2: ASEAN SDG-SSE Roadmap 2026-2030: Its components and results of mobilization of stakeholders.

PANEL 3: Achievements/Impact of Poverty Reduction programs in ASEAN Countries: Cases in ASEAN countries,

PANEL 4: Innovations in Financing for SSE Entities.

PANEL 5: Conducive Public Policies for Strengthening SSE.

PANEL 6: SSE, the SDGs and the Care Economy – Drawing the Connections for an Enabling Policy Environment.

PANEL 7: Innovations in Social Impact Assessment of SSE Entities.

PANEL 8: Way Forward

The program is divided into two phases

Phase 1: Online – Executive Forum (May 20-21, 2026)

Phase 2: In person – Provisional Follow-up Conference (October 2026)

 

THE CORE INNOVATION: THE PEOPLE’S BAYANIHAN FUND ECOSYSTEM

Dr Ben highlighted the centrepiece of the overall 2026 initiative remains the launch of the People’s Bayanihan Fund, a systemic solution to the “Missing Middle” financing gap.

While the full ecosystem launch is targeted for the October 2026 onsite conference, the May online forum will introduce the concept to top executives and secure preliminary commitments from key partners (Rural Banks, LGUs, basic sector representatives, etc.)
